This Queer Soup Night Durham event will support Durham Beyond Policing, a grassroots organization working to create community-led approaches to safety, wellness, and collective care. Through political education, community organizing, and advocacy, Durham Beyond Policing works toward building safer communities that invest in people rather than punishment.

Former line cook turned stay at home dad, Chef Jonathan Werz will be cooking for us this month! He uses his experience in many different kitchens to bring delicious soups for the community of Durham.

Inspired by the seasons and curiosity, he combines fresh ingredients and culinary improvisation to make soups that honor traditions and introduce new boundaries.

Soup # 1: Lentejas (vegan, but will have an optional cojita garnish)

Soup # 2: Pollo Verde (quite meaty, but is dairy free. It will also have an optional cojita garnish)
